When we begin to learn and grow as a baby eventually evolving into an adult we begin to take on things. We all start off pretty free and light without much responsibilities as little babies and then eventually as we begin the growing process both internally and externally we begin to carry things. Whether it be from much responsibility, goals, vision, plans, acquisitions. The list can go on and on. But the total sum increases as we grow in age. Lately I have been pondering the many things I have learned to carry with me in life and have begun sifting out what can stay and what needs to go. Similar to when I went through my entire wardrobe recently, I was very adamant about literally implementing the saying, “Out with the old, in with the new.” Refusing to keep any clothes I have not worn in the past 3 to 5 years. In the end once that whole process was over I was left with significantly less amount of clothes and immediately felt released and that I had accomplished something great. If it was not for my refusal to stay true to what I said to myself then the outcome would have been very different.
Its is very easy to shift with the times and different things that come up in life. Whether it be with the different cultures that we are surrounded by or the customs. With so much influence around it can be very hard to stay along the straight line we once were on so willingly. But, to any plant there is a seed is the same way we must implement our pivotal seed of refusal. Just like we have a very strong and loud yes to things that aren’t good for us can easily slip us back into places we took so long to get out of, is the same way we need to be in our no to things that are no longer serving us. I want to challenge you to not read this sentence and have in the back of your mind a saying we all know too well…”Well that is easier said than done.” I am beginning to see this saying as such a hindrance when we choose to stay in this being the only solution to whatever it may be we are needed to face head on. There comes a time when we have to simply say I rather take the challenge and do it than settle for it being stretched out over long periods of time all because one choice in our perspective did not align with purpose. We do not have to settle for anything. Maintaining our refusal helps us to stay on course and keep our eyes focused on whats in our next and beyond. There truly cannot be any room for cushioning because with that comes a slight default in everything. Stemming from how we see, feel, think, believe, have faith and the list continues for a very long period of time. But I would like to encourage you and leave you with this. Your refusal matters, your no matters, your understanding and most importantly your heart matters for the many different matters at hand.
Forever in Faith. Forever in Motion.
