Stand Series: Memory

Our memory is one of the most influential and helpful things we can consistently lean on whenever we need to. It stands against time even when we sometimes fail to steward what it can offer in the midst of our inconsistencies.

Memory is always around whether we acknowledge it or not. It can bring back emotions that further remind us of moments. In these moments a stand still factors is presented if willing to look into. Once inside of it you may discover it can also serve as pivotal times in life that can remind us of where we have come from and how much farther we have to go.

The greatest thing about memory I have found to be the most impactful is the evidence of gratitude that comes out of it. When I look back on many of the things I experienced and went through I have allowed myself to see the good in the midst of and that is what keeps me going. It also fills me with many thank you’s in my heart and on my mind even in the midst of the hardships and difficult moments. There was a time when my perspective was not set on this and it took a lot for me even begin to see what had to happen in the end for my good. The circumstances and trials were beginning to blur out what I knew to stand as the truth and a decision had to be made in the end. I had to make a choice concerning what this outlook can look like in the end and in it I chose the light.

This is something I have grown to really appreciate and love concerning my relationship with God. He is faithful to always bring things back to my remembrance whenever I am in need of a recharge or a refueling. Memory can be that for you as well. It does not have to be what brings you down or takes you to a place but rather it can be an area of growth inside of the reflection that reroutes you back to him. If he is the author and the finisher of your Faith allow him to be just that and more. Let the statement of I remember be apart of your vocabulary. Allow it take you to the place with a new lens of wisdom to see, understand and further enhance your why behind everything you have been allowed to do now. I think you will be very surprised in what you will find was already in place, but just required some time away to look back at it with a deeper and greater understanding that will continue to shift you for the better.

I will leave you with this: continue to stand in your memory. You will be thoroughly surprised with how it can further empower you to keep taking those steps by faith one day at a time.
