Have you ever really sat to think about what it truly means to give. Often times when we think of giving we include ourselves with it. There is a moment I am sure we have all fell victim too as I did myself where we make mention of something we have done for someone casually in conversation. It may at times seem like its nothing and may be what we like to call humility, but I want to offer to you another perspective. Anything that is given should be accompanied with no expectation to receive any recognition or repayment. Now you may be thinking what do I mean by this? Well innately our human brains expect to see or receive recognition whenever we do something good. However, I believe to give genuinely from your heart it is void of any underlying validation for the seed you’ve sown. In the book of Matthew 6:4 it states, “That thine alms may be in secret: and they Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.” The word alms means to donate your time or service for those in need. To give or be motivated by love. In Greek it means pity or mercy. This definition I just listed out for you are clear examples as to how one can give or sow a seed into someones life. But the key point I want you to pay close attention to are the intentions behind what is being presented. It is in service of the need at hand outside of your obligations or areas you may be in need of. The sole focus is someone outside of yourself. Completely selfless in all of its nature. I truly believe this is accessible for all of us to both achieve and do every time no matter the respecter of person. Something like this is more than possible for us all to fulfill. But I want to remind you who and where your thanks should be presented and given too. The one who allows you to do it all. My ability to give comes from the ultimate giver, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without him giving would not exist. “He so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son..”John 3:16. If God had not allowed this many of us including myself would not be here today to write this to you from this perspective of having been first partaker of his grace and capability in me to be and do. This is what I am daily reminded of each and every day. The moment I wake up is a reminder of the breath and life that lives in me. This will always be more than enough to say thank you. Daily I am reminded of this and it leaves me offering thanks just because. God will always be worthy of all the praise and Thanksgiving no matter the season and it will always be apart of my story.
So I will leave you with this, every time you wake up start with a thank you. Before you look at your phone, answer an email or even brush your teeth as crazy as it may sound start with a thank you. It does not have to be loud at all, it can be a small still whisper. But no matter the volume let it speak with a sound of gratefulness.
