We live in a world that is run by a capitalistic mindset where everything is about consuming and creating profit. It did not take me too long to figure this out as a child. Commercials are set to entice those very things they need us all to invest and put our money towards so businesses can keep thriving and people can keep buying. But lately I have been thinking about what happens when all of this one days runs out? What would happen if there were a break in our system that caused there to be no access to funds? Where would all of our states be in that exact moment? Now if I was writing this blog post lets say in the year of 2018 I would tell you to panic and freak out because its all over and maybe some of you reading this may be thinking the same thing. But surprisingly when thinking about these questions there is a sure response in my head that everything will be just fine. Possibly based on my response you are already thinking that sounds impossible! Well I am here to tell you it is in fact possible.
As we have been on this journey of plowing and going through our grounds for this year of 2024 I want to remind us of our ears. In the book of Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” This is one of the many facts of Faith we often forget or do not pay close enough attention to when traveling. If our ears are not attentive enough to hear when God is activating us in another measure and layer of Faith we will fall short in our feet. We are innately called to walk by Faith and not by sight. (2 Colossians 5:6-8) No matter how much sight we may have of the vision, goal, or dream and however it may be shining in our faces clear as day we must never fail to remember our ears have to match. I find when I am quiet and still enough there is such a small whisper that comes from the Lord when you set your mind and heart on him. There is truly such a peace that surpasses all understanding that begins to rest in and on you if you allow it to. This to me will always be priceless. You cannot buy faith, nor can you purchase peace. These things are given if we are able and open enough to receive it. I want to encourage you to charge your ears to hear again. Increase your awareness of the heightened sound of Faith to know and see when it is all around you. For some this may mean its time to move, for others this may mean its time to be still and stay locked in trusting on the Lord. Whatever capacity or level you have to remain alert at all times to know when Faith is speaking and remain quiet enough to catch it and move forward thereafter.
The Lord has been challenging me in my awareness of Faith by opening my eyes to how much he is talking to me in every conversation. It has truly been life changing and is completely transforming how I have viewed it before in my past.
So I want to leave you with this, recharge your ears today. Pay attention to the sound around you and listen for his small still voice as he speaks because guess what…he is talking! Just take a moment to listen in!
