So when we think about Faith, it is so important to see it in stages. Just like when a child is getting ready to take its first steps, it has gone through a process of crawling on their tummy and pushing off its legs to be able to reach something, and then eventually using their arms as leverage before transitioning to their feet. If you have ever watched a baby start the journey of walking on their feet, it can be initially really wobbly. But eventually they get the hang of it. Even after consistently falling or taking a few small steps, they still get back up again, and usually with the most adorable smile that melts your heart.
This is kind of like how Faith can work inside of you. It takes a while to get a hang of it, and even when you may feel like you have finally checked all the boxes, not too long after, you will go right back to the classroom to learn again from scratch. The developing stages of faith are essential to endure, embrace, and take with you in every passing lesson it has to offer. It never stops moving, even after you pursue or do the thing you were most afraid of. You need even more faith after you achieve that goal or push past that barrier to be able to see the other side of endless possibilities.
When we look at faith from this perspective, I believe it will help us to be ok with the ups and downs, the in-betweens, and even the I don’t know moments. They are all a part of it, but the grasp of your faith is what will bring you through. How much are you willing to sound a little crazy because you know that with Faith, you can conquer anything?
Faith is the currency of the kingdom of Heaven. It’s a daily transaction, and every day you can swipe it. Whether that’s through your speech (what you say and even what you are not saying but is floating around in your thoughts – it still matters and can have a huge impact on you) or maybe it’s how you intentionally write out a business plan or idea you have. Are you writing things out with a lot of if’s in mind, or with an ” I know this is going to happen some way or another?
It may seem like a small change, but it is a HUGE one that can have a lasting impact for years to come!
It’s also how you please God; without faith, it is impossible to please him.
Hebrews 11:6-7
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Look at this equation set up right inside of his word: he that cometh must believe that he is, and then that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him.
There is an outcome you receive just from having faith in God if you seek him diligently – learning his ways, nature, all that good stuff – I will touch more on this in another podcast to come.
Get into the development of your faith its necessary and will be life-changing!
Until next time,
Forever in Faith. Forever in Motion.
